# Send an SMS

Send the same text to one or up to 1,000 recipients. Credits are reserved immediately (1 segment = 1 credit) and messages are queued. Embedded links (`[link-id]` in the text + `links`) are shortened with click tracking.

**Authentication:** `Authorization: Bearer bm_live_…` · **Required scope:** `sms:send`

> Send an `Idempotency-Key` header (a unique string, e.g. a UUID). Repeating the same key within 24 hours returns the same response without charging again.
